UNIQUE EXPERIENCE – that is what I can bring to the Penn State Board of Trustees.
My combined 35 years of experience in the judicial and executive branches of Pennsylvania government make me uniquely qualified to serve on the Board.
I studied political science because I admired a young President who said he was “an idealist without illusions.” That is the type Trustee we need – one who can promote Penn State, while recognizing the past decade has resulted in particular challenges.
As a County Commissioner, I interacted with Penn State officials in numerous ways including economic development, taxation, tourism, hazmat response and the county’s comprehensive plan. I fully understand Penn State’s positive impact on the community. It is an impact that I can promote locally and in the state capital.
Given my education and my practical governmental experience, I fully appreciate the judicial process and our court system. Today, that is a real asset for a Trustee.
Regardless of my governmental position, as a District Judge, County Commissioner, or State Secretary, I had positive interaction with Penn State administrators, faculty, students, and staff. This knowledge of how Penn State is viewed by people across the entire Commonwealth will enable me to become an effective Trustee.
I currently own and operate Twin Avenues consulting focusing mainly on judicial races, and Forefathers Book Shop. My book shop celebrates our country’s rich history and is located within 5 miles of the geographic center of the state. I will be accessible.
